Thankfulness. Typically that’s a word we often hear a lot of around the holiday season, right? Well, being thankful isn’t exclusively reserved for the holidays. There are so many reasons why we should be thankful, and that’s what we’re here to uncover today; reasons to be thankful right now.

When the pressure is on, and life just feels like it is really throwing you some curveballs, I get it; it can be hard to see the good in anything. But just because we can’t see the good right now doesn’t mean it never has or will ever exist again. Even in moments of challenge and defeat, there is a reason to be thankful. And in those moments when life seems to be bearing down on us or coming at us from all sides, it becomes even more crucial to resort back to gratitude. Let’s get right to it, and explore seven reasons to be thankful right now.

Be Thankful For Life

Number one is an easy one. Let’s be thankful for the life that we have received. After all, this is a rare gift. Despite the fact that there are billions of people alive in this very world right now, you and I still had an incredibly rare chance of ever being born in the first place. That’s pretty crazy to even think about! But I get it. Sometimes it’s easy to take our lives for granted. We wake up day after day and just go through the motions. We live each day, forgetting that we are not invincible and that this life will be over one day.

The truth is that we never know when our last day will come. That’s precisely why we need to be thankful right now for what we have. Each day is a gift, and even this life is a gift. Those moments of pain, anger, or uncertainty really put that into perspective. Be thankful for life every day.

Be Thankful For Who You Are

You’re unique. Everyone single one of us is unique. Whoever you are, be thankful for the person you are, which is YOU.

Sometimes we don’t give ourselves enough credit or the love we deserve. After all, it’s no easy feat to get out of bed in the morning to face the world, but we do it anyway. Be thankful for that. We all have bad days. We all make mistakes. We’re human, which means we’re all flawed. We’re going to make mistakes, we’re going to have bad days, we’re going to screw up; that’s just how life goes.

I’ve said before that I’m still waiting to meet that perfect person. Well, it looks like I’ll be waiting a while because no one is perfect. We all do things we probably shouldn’t do and say things we probably shouldn’t say. But that’s all about being human. It’s about recognizing this and trying to get better because of it each and every day. But before you try to get better, be thankful for everything you already are, which is you.

Be Thankful For Our Planet And For Nature

This one is a twofer. Two more things we should be thankful for are our wonderful home planet Earth, as well as all of the beautiful places that exist right here where we live, nature. Be lucky that we don’t have to hop from planet to planet like we see them do in the movies, at least not yet. We’re fortunate enough to have everything we need right here. The Earth is amazing. Without the Earth, we’d have no home. Without no home, there’d be no us. Whoa!

We can’t talk about Earth without talking about one of its greatest things: the insane amount of beautiful places that exist within it. There are so many breathtaking views and beautiful nature that live and breathe right here on our planet. From oceans to forests and mountain ranges, all the way to local parks and even our backyards, spectacular views surround us. Everything we can ever search for in this life is right here in front of us. The natural world that exists on this planet is like none other. Let’s step outside and step into a world of wonder. And while we’re at, let’s be thankful that we have that opportunity to do so. Nature rocks!

Be Thankful For Family

Family really is everything. Family is like no other power that exists in this world. It’s a love that loves unconditionally. Through thick and thin, family stays together. While friends come and go, families stand the test of time. Be thankful for that love. Be thankful for your family.

I know sometimes, it’s hard to see eye to eye. Issues can set us apart, but they can’t separate us from the love that brings us all together. Be thankful that you have a family. Be thankful for friends that are like family. Be thankful for any connections that you have that remind you of a family.

Be Thankful For Each Other

Think about all of the strangers that you might cross paths with on any given day. That’s a lot of people, huh? Tons of people in this world, and we’ll never get to meet most of them. But still, we should be thankful that we all exist. We all have something special about us that we can offer the world.

We all make an impact on each other, whether we recognize that or not. Our houses are built by people. Our clothes are made by people. The phone you’re holding right now was created by people. We need to be thankful for people, as hard it can be to fathom. We all need each other to keep this world spinning. Be thankful for each other.

Lastly, Just Be Thankful Period

I told you there would be seven things to be thankful for. Well, that was a lie. There are hundreds or thousands of things to be thankful for right now. In fact, I can start rambling some off now:

I’m thankful for the nighttime sky, which shows the moon and the stars.

I’m thankful for the trees that blow, the birds that sing, and the sun that shines.

I’m thankful for my bed, my house, and my clothes.

I’m thankful for my coffee, my tea, or my water.

I’m thankful for the food I eat.

Be thankful for something, and you’ll never feel empty.

Are You Feeling Thankful Yet?

When life has got you feeling down, the last thing we can even think about is being thankful for something. And I get that mindset. I really do. Because life is hard, life is so challenging. Loss, pain, grief, sorrow, and adversity are all real emotions. But no matter the struggle, and no matter the pain we endure, the hand we’ve been dealt, there is always a reason to be thankful. So what’s yours? What are you thankful for?

Who are you thankful for?

What lights a fire inside of you so bright?
